
Jen is a Board-Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with over 29 years of experience caring for children from newborns through young adulthood. She specializes in concussion evaluation and management and continues to practice in emergency care. Her background includes emergency medicine, primary care, intensive care, newborn care, and outpatient settings, providing a comprehensive understanding of pediatric health across all stages.
For the past 12 years, Jen has focused on concussion care within a multidisciplinary clinic, using up-to-date, evidence-based approaches to treatment and recovery. She has treated thousands of patients with concussions from a wide range of causes and guides each individual through every phase of healing, including personalized return-to-learn, return-to-play, and return-to-work plans. She collaborates closely with specialists and contributes to community education and outreach to promote concussion awareness and prevention.
Jen’s approach is personalized and holistic, recognizing that recovery is influenced by physical, cognitive, and emotional factors. She partners closely with patients and families to develop individualized care plans that support full recovery and long-term wellness.

Anne is a physical therapist with more than 20 years of clinical experience, specializing in concussion assessment, management and recovery. She co-founded the multidisciplinary concussion clinics within Inova PM&R, helping advance integrated, patient-centered care for individuals recovering from brain injuries.
Anne is a Certified Brain Injury Specialist through the Brain Injury Association of America and serves as Associate Director of Knowledge Translation & Implementation for the Virginia Concussion Initiative, where she supports concussion education, research, and evidence-based care practices across diverse communities. She is also an Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy at Shenandoah University, where she teaches and mentors future healthcare professionals.
For over 15 years, Anne has worked closely with children, adolescents, and adults recovering from concussion, combining evidence-based treatment with a collaborative, whole-person approach to care. Through her clinical, academic, and leadership roles, she is dedicated to improving recovery outcomes, advancing concussion education, and helping patients safely return to school, work, sports, and daily life.
